About the Author
Herman Mashaba is a Non-Executive Director of Black Like Me (Pty) Ltd which he co-founded in 1985 in South Africa. He is Executive Chairman of Lephatsi Investments (Pty) Ltd, Leswikeng Group of Companies and Phatsima Group of Companies and holds several other directorships. In 2004 Mashaba won the Free Market Foundation's Free Market Award for his exceptional contribution to the cause of economic freedom in South Africa.

The time bomb that is South Africa's unemployed youth.

I read Herman Mashaba's latest book "Capitalist Crusader" with deep dismay at the way South Africa has been sidetracked down a desperate road that has all but destroyed the economy. His research is impeccable, his conclusions persuasive and anyone with a care about the future for their families will find it, at the same time, offering a positive way forward. It's not a crusader's rant. It is a brave presentation of the facts and consequences of an utterly unsustainable socialist agenda that has led to South Africa now suffering one of the highest unemployment rates (+25%) in the world.. mainly among the young. Essential reading.

Great combination of personal stories, economic theory and data. Herman Mashaba was just elected a Mayor f Johannesburg so he can implement his ideas in practice. A must to read for everyone interested in South Africa, economics and political science.

Well written book. But ..

It is well known that Apartheid and neoliberal policies have created the problem of poverty. These problems will not be addressed by neoliberalism. They will be exacerbated by it.
