I want Volume II..!

A textbook, hummmm...NO, that is not fair, for most textbooks are written by people who must sell you a chair in their classroom rather than give you a book that teaches one anything! THIS book teaches and it does it as if your very LIFE depended on it! It is imminently readable and filled with proper regard for a broad range of learners. Yes, you should not be an absolute novice - that is, having never seen a computer - BUT, if you can read and will put in the time to embrace painful study - you will use this book and all that it says. There is no waste or filler in this book! Mike Ash wrote this book as if he wanted to prove to the world that one does not have to compromise quality to promote Mac/App programming to worlds of users who may not have been born programmers (or are just being born!), and who are trying to make superior, high quality, money-making apps.The text is SLAMMED full of legible real world, best-used, examples with a gifted mind suggesting various 'other uses' for code improvement and dangers. It is a recipe book for solutions. The organization and textual clarity is truly superb. It shows mastery of the app writing process and a mature app problem solving mind-set: OUT-FREAKING-STANDING!!
NEGATIVE(S) found a microscopic smudge of dirt on the lower left corner of the 200th page...(oops, they may have been my eggs benedict..).AND...can't find volume II of this book - fast enough! I wish I could somehow 'subscribe' to this author... 'nuff said.

I've been a long-time reader of Mike's blog, and have the electronic version of this book. It is an incredible compendium of Mac and iOS programming (and of just general programming). There are few books where you can learn at the feet of a master on top of his game. This is one of them. Sometimes I just scrub to a random location and end up learning something new.

A classic on the history of the Cumberland Valley

This is my favorite book on early life along the Cumberland Valley (Middle Tennessee and lower Central Kentucky), especially after getting past Chapter One, which is an imaginary narration of an "early adventure" which seemed unnecessary. That is a small complaint though. The book has some really interesting information on all aspects of settlement of the area and I highly recommend it! Many of the details described are applicable to pioneer life in other areas east of the Mississippi as well, I would think.

I've seen this book referred to a number of times and finally got around to ordering it. I was thrilled by the wealth of detail about pioneer life. The seller was promp,t and the statement of the condition of the book was accurate. Would definitely use the seller again.

She packed up and moved to another state, leaving everyone behind, not knowing where she was going to live or what was about to happen.

Sometimes the bend in the road is super important so that the sight of what's ahead doesn't stop us dead in our tracks. On August 10, 2015 Amanda decided to lay down the drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, and Coca-Cola. She faced many obstacles and adversities on her journey to sobriety. Her car was repossessed and she was evicted, leaving her homeless in a city where she had no identifiable help. During those trying days, the only way she made it through was by staying connected to God, her purpose in this world, and the love she received from her new environment.

Bad circumstances can bring amazing blessings and lessons if you're open to receive them. By going through all of that, Amanda came up with the C.O.N.N.E.C.T. method. It got her sober and kept her sober and now she wants to share it with you.

This book changed my life!

This book has a special message that has changed the way that I view the world. I always felt like I was not "worth enough", that there was someone better and that I was not living my purpose.

This book taught me how to get out of my own way and how to change the world. It's not a list of suggestions, but real life examples of how Amanda used small, simple steps to break free from her addiction and inspire others around her. I have always struggled with feeling that I have to have "more" or be "better" to actually matter and to have an impact on the world. But if Amanda can find a way to give to others as a single mom who was evicted and also left without a car-what excuse do I have?

Sometimes the trials that someone else has found a way to stand on may also become the "secret staircase" you have been looking for all along! If you have ever felt that you are not enough, if you have ever felt lost, and if you are searching for a way "out" of your nightmare and a step to help others out of their dreams and into a beautiful reality-then do yourself a favor, gift a copy to yourself and a copy to someone who you love. Excellent Reference

Using this text in conjuction with "Decisions with Multiple Objectives" by Keeney & Raiffa will give you a good application compliment to K&R theoretical work. Bard is geared to the applications. I used both these texts as part of my doctoral course Management Decisions in Engineering at Kennedy-Western University. It is a powerful combination for an in-depth statistical study of Decision Theory & Application.
