A Must Read of Child Therapists

There has been a lag in the child literture on child therapy in which books do not refelct recent dramtic changes in the field. With the printing of Relatioanl Child Psychotherapy we now have a books that presents a through contempopary overview of working with child and adolescents from within a psychoanalytic framework. I am teaching two different classes on child psychotherapy and this book is assigned as the main reading for both. It is well written, far-reaching and very celar and accessible.

Great Introduction - Very Clear- Good Resource

As a clinical MSW interested in ultimately working with children using a relational approach, I have found this book to be an invaluable resource. It is clear and easy to read, but does not shy away from complex ideas. I recommend this book to anyone interested in relational theory and looking for ways to incorporate it in their work with children.

For the Relational / Interpersonal therapist

As a new therapist this book was excellent for describing my theoretical orientation from a psychodynamic relational interpersonal approach. I LOVE this book because it easily describes theory and application. A MUST have for both supervisors and MFT / social work trainees!
