About the Author
Suzie’s life has been one big adventure. Her childhood was full of reading the classics like Treasure Isle, Robinson Crusoe and The Swiss Family Robinson tales. In fact her mother has another word for her “stories” but to this day, Suzie continues to dream up adventures of her own.
As a pregnant teen her adventure became a life-defining moment as she struggled to survive and raise a child on her own. During those rocky years writing became an emotional outlet. After a very long divorce she again finds herself climbing that rocky path of life and has learned to live by a single quote: “Obstacles are placed in our path to determine whether we really wanted something, or just thought we did.” By Dr. Harold Smith.
Suzie looks forward to each new obstacle. Taking life by the proverbial horns, Suzie now lives happily ever after with her new beau, three boys, and one little Shih tzu named Peppy Le’Pew in NC. One day she plans to retire and sail along the east coast, an adventurer to the end.

Ms. Grant quickly draws the reader into this riveting, action-packed, fast-paced drama that will having you sitting on the edge of your seat wondering whether or not Trya will survive the imminent danger that's trying to take her life. The first two chapters sets the course for this engaging story that has all of the components of a "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie.
Tyra may be young, but she is a force to be reckoned with, especially when it comes to protecting herself. The way she fought to save her life was both impressive and admirable. In addition, Ms. Grant provided a great deal of insight into Tyra's mindset as she allowed the reader to fully comprehend what Tyra was feeling throughout the story. Trya is a fierce, fiesty, witty, intelligent young warrior that you will like instantly and can't help but root for as she seeks vengeance on those who've done her wrong and killed the people that she loved. My heart went out to Tyra who lost so much, but still kept the strength, courage, and will to fight another day.
My initial reaction to Rorik and his first meeting with Tyra is that he's cocky, arrogant, and has no clue who's he's about to battle, or so it seems. Yet, he's sensible and prefers to discuss the situation with Tyra instead of immediately going into battle with her. It's obvious that he realizes Trya is his mate and the chemistry between them is undeniable - intense, decadent, and uninhibited. In addition, I appreciated the fact that Rorik not only appreciated Tyra's beauty, but he also respected her ability as a warrior. Moreover, the banter between Trya and Rorik as they battled was simply delicious. Although she struggled to keep the memories of her past, her time stranded with the Saxon still had a profound effect on her memory and inability to recognize her own people.
Ms. Grant has penned an enticing, heart stopping, fast-paced, adventurous story with engaging, strong-willed characters that will quickly grow a place in your heart. The plot is well-thought out and the time period is consistent and realistic. I liked how Ms. Grant explained at the beginning of the book about the wooden pipes and the research that she had conducted while using her author's license to create a better story. Moreover, the language flowed throughout the story and the descriptions of the Vikings and Saxons were vivid and only increased the depth of the story. The dynamics between the main characters, as well as the secondary characters only progressed the story and created a more complex plot.
If you're looking for a fast-paced, heart pounding adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you biting your fingernails wondering what will happen next as vengeance is sought, love is unveiled, and life comes full circle, then Suzie Grant's Valkyrie's Vengeance is definitely the book to read.

When I went to find a book to review at Risqu�� Reviews, I discovered Valkyrie��s Vengeance by Suzie Grant. It didn��t have a summary. I almost didn��t check it out. Something told me to give it a try. Am I ever glad I did!�� Wow!!�� Sometimes I will go to Amazon and read the book description. But for some reason, I didn��t this time. If I had, I probably wouldn��t have checked this book out. I'm not a fan of Viking stories. But I love historical romance. This book began in 901 AD. Yet, the main storyline took place ten years later.��
The action had me from the very first sentence. Beyond the action-packed events from beginning to end, there are also tender parts as Rorik realized he is falling in love with the vengeful Valkyrie Tyra. Then, the more Tyra is around Rorik, the more she admires him. Add to that Grant's description of Norse cultural detail was wonderful. Grant teaches me a lot about how the Vikings and the Saxons lived through the description of Norse boats, weapons, and houses as well as Norse myth and gods. The story is interesting in Grant's portrayal of how the Vikings followed their beliefs. And don't forget about the tough heroine��
Tyra is such a brave girl who learned to fight and take care of herself in a world where a woman must to survive. I especially like it when she met the dark Viking--her name for Rorik Thorlicksson. She meets Rorik at the end of swords and daggers in an act of revenge because his king had killed the only woman she had known as a mother--Enid. Rorik mocks her when she swears to have the head of his king after the Norse King killed Enid. Tyra swears vengeance on the Norse King, and the dark Viking as well. Unfortunately, time changes all things��
Tyra was a Viking before she was raised Saxon by Enid. To follow through avenging Enid's death, she travels with Rorik to his homeland. They form a sort of bond. He secretly hopes to change her mind about his king. The journey leads to many different feelings as the story unfolds. I could feel her attraction to Rorik, but also her distrust of him because his people had raided and killed village people.��
So, this book proves readers should always give a book a chance. I would have missed out on one of the best books I��ve ever read had I not done so with Valkyrie��s Vengeance

Vikings who knew

A fantastic book! If your look for action and romance, you have it all rolled into one. The book is well written that you can actually picture the whole thing in your mind. Who knew that a Viking romance would be an adventure worth taking.
