About the Author
When Linda Hoyt is asked what people should know about her professional career, she is often heard to say, "I'm a teacher. That will always be the heart of my professional work." Though she spent many years as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, curriculum developer, staff developer, and Title I District Coordinator, Linda's passion will always center around vigorous and engaging classrooms where teachers and children learn together. This passion for vigorous and engaged learning has led Linda to create twenty-four professional books and video programs, plus numerous instructional resources for children. A few titles from her multidimensional list of Heinemann publications include Revisit, Reflect, Retell; Make It Real; Interactive Read-Alouds; Solutions for Reading Comprehension; and her newest resources, Explorations in Nonfiction Writing and Crafting Nonfiction. Linda Hoyt Does It Again

I own the first edition of Revisit, Reflect, Retell and I didn't think the new version would offer anything new. I was wrong. Linda has formatted the book so that a teacher can glance quickly to see how a suggested strategy might be used. The visuals, graphic organizers, and blackline masters are wonderful. The CD is a helpful tool. I absolutely love the new version.

One of the BEST books a teacher could ever purchase. Are you looking for student engagement, fresh ideas and effective strategies? Then this is the book to buy. Linda Hoyt does an amazing job.
Love the DVD included with the book. She models two of the strategies from the book. I would have given it 5 stars, but think there should have been more strategies in the DVD.

The Best of Literacy Instruction

Some "new editions" disappoint me, but this update to Linda Hoyt's Revist, Reflect, Retell is WONDERFUL! I was instantly reminded of how powerful this book was to me as a young teacher and reenergized by the fresh ideas. I've used these activities with young students through adult learners. If you already own Revisit, Reflect, Retell share the old version with someone unfamiliar with Hoyt's ideas and buy this one for yourself. It's worth every penny.
