While feminists interested in social theory focus on the ways in which social institutions shape these notions, feminists interested in psychoanalytic theory focus on cultural representations of sex, sexuality and gender roles, and the ways that they affect the psyche. Good collection of essays

Good collection of essays, some old classics and some relatively unknown on this side of the pond. This could be useful for a literary criticism class interested in this set of critical optics, for a women's studies class exploring the issues raised by French feminism, and for those wanting to expand their understanding of the intersections of gender and identity.
